Our club motto is: “Count your age by friends not years”

Yackandandah Senior Citizens Club was established on the 27th of May 1970 by like-minded senior members of the community who wished to be able to socialise and gather together. After much fund raising, along with Commonwealth/State/Local Council grants, the building was opened in 1983 and is known as the ‘Yackandandah Senior Citizens Centre’.

Our members enjoy playing social indoor bowls on a Tuesday and Wednesday at 1pm which involves two games of eight ends. We have afternoon tea after the games.

on the first Friday of the month, we play a in house competition known as Harry Keeble Day, which consists of three games just to test our skills against each other.

On the third Friday of the month, we have two teams that play in Golden Oldies Indoor Bowls which involve other town groups from Springhurst, Glenrowan, Eldorado, Howlong, Wangaratta and Wodonga. We host the event three times per year.

We also involve our members in social luncheons, for example Melbourne Cup and Christmas Functions plus bus trips and anything else our members decide on.

We celebrate the Clubs Birthday on the 27th of May each year.

The annual membership is $5.00 and tea/coffee is $1.00.

We are always welcoming new club members, so come along, enjoy each other company, you are never too old to make new friends.
