Welcome! Thanks for popping into the centre
Located at 29 High St, the Yackandandah Community Centre has been a part of the local community for many years. It is part of the Upper Murray Regional Neighbourhood House Network and a registered not-for-profit charity. The centre auspices the Yackandandah Community Garden and Plastic Wise Yackandandah.
Our Community Op Shop operates from the front room of the Community Centre. It’s a great place to pick up a bargain and we are happy to take donations of clean, unwanted items including clothing, houshold items and kids toys.
The Op Shop is run by a loyal band of volunteers and is open most days, including weekends, from 10am till 4pm. If you are new to the community or just have a hankering to help out the Op Shop is a great place to volunteer, meet locals and visitors alike and help support your community.
Funds raised through the Op Shop go towards grants for community organisations in Yackandandah.
YCC offers a range courses throughout the year, with everything from first aid and chainsaw safety courses to belly dancing and art classes on offer and we can provide a meeting/workshop space at very reasonable rates that is used by local groups for formal and informal meetings.
The centre also provides a room to the National Disabilities Insurance Scheme which is used to provide services to local participants. The local radio station, Indigo FM has a studio in the centre which is used to broadcast music and other programs to the Yackandandah area.
Newcomers to our area are very welcome to come in, have a chat, and find out about some of the groups and clubs that operate in Yackandandah.
